Arrieta Berdasco

Valentín Arrieta Berdasco its an architect from the University of Valladolid (2008), founded the study Valentín Arrieta-Arquitectura y Patrimonio based in Gijón (Asturias) in 2009. Doctor from the Department of Architecture Theory and Architectural Projects of the ETSAVA (2016). Associate professor of Architectural Projects at the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Valladolid (2016-2020) and visiting professor by the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Oviedo since 2019.

Author of numerous articles on architectural heritage, especially that linked to medieval art, the architecture of the Modern Movement and rural architecture, and a regular participant in conferences with lectures and communications on these matters. He combines teaching and research work with the development of new plant projects (especially of residential typology), rehabilitation, and intervention in the architectural heritage, specializing in this last field in the documentation, analysis, and diagnosis of historical buildings. Winner of the Rosario Acuña 2017 and Paradores 2017 research awards, as well as a finalist in the 2018 Asturias Architecture Awards.

Since 2018 coordinator of the Cultural Heritage Working Group of the Official College of Architects of Asturias, and currently the coordinator of the ARQcam “Recent Architecture of Roads” architectural dissemination project, promoted by ten professional associations of architects from all over Spain.
