AREA (Architecture Research Athens) is an award winning design practice established in Athens by architects Styliani Daouti, Giorgos Mitroulias and Michaeljohn Raftopoulos that explores the relationship between culture, form and context.
The team's approach actively engages with the public and often develops through participatory practices. AREA's theoretical and built work ranges across multiple scales, from furniture to urban design, and has been published and exhibited in Greece and abroad.
Their work has received numerous prizes in competitions for public and private projects. AREA teaches architecture at the University of Thessaly and the University of Patras Schools of Architecture.
