As a prelude to April 2, "World Autism Day", last night, April 1, Telefónica illuminated its emblematic building on Madrid's Gran Vía in blue to echo the initiative. With this gesture, the company joined the awareness campaign Light it Up Blue', promoted internationally by Autism Speaks and that could be followed in networks with the hashtag #LIUB and # DíaMundialAutismo. An initiative to which have been added more than 300 buildings as a gesture of commitment and social awareness.
From 8:30 pm to 11:45 pm on Sunday, coinciding with the celebration of World Awareness Day on Autism today, April 2, the emblematic building of architect Ignacio de Cárdenas has changed the target to blue as a sign of support and solidarity with the group of people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their families.
The motto chosen for this 2018 "Break together barriers for autism. Let's make an accessible society" aims to advance social inclusion and break with the difficulties that people with ASD face in order to adapt to society according to their needs.
