In the residential neighborhood of Urca, northwest of the Argentine city of Córdoba, on a small plot between party walls, is the office of the architectural studio Plano Compartido.

The project consists of a neutral square box measuring 6x6 m and 9 m high, which renews the fabric of the neighborhood and acts as a place of leisure, exchange and work.

The architectural office of the Plano Compartido studio has a meeting room on the ground floor that acts as a place for cultural exchange with the neighborhood, an intermediate floor with a space dedicated to production, where the main tasks carried out by the studio are carried out, and a terrace on the upper floor for social gatherings with friends.

A structure of heavy profiles and concrete slabs is used to construct the first floors, while self-supporting aluminum panels are used to enclose the building.

On the ground floor, a movable folded sheet acts as a curtain between the street and the interior, creating a small patio that acts as a place for exchange for social events. Brick is used for the exterior flooring of the patio, creating continuity with the sheet metal.

Project description by Plano Compartido

On a small lot between party walls in a residential neighborhood from the 80s this 6x6 neutral box is built betting on the renewal of the urban fabric. This is the studio's architectural office, a place for work, but also for leisure and exchange.

A meeting room that at the same time is the place for the exchange with the city, an intermediate floor where the productive studio exchange happens and a terrace as a meeting place with friends.

A heavy profile structure assembles the skeleton. Solid concrete slabs cover the first floor. The enclosure is made with aluminium panels.

The box opens to the north and is subtly pierced to the east and the south.

A folded sheet metal edge, like a curtain, allows articulation of the yard of the office with the city, creating the space for the social exchanges.

The brick appears on the exterior floors as a continuity of the rest of the city.
