Exhibition that offers a vision of education as an engine of social change through Giner's project. With 400 pieces including paintings, sculptures, photographs and vintage footage, it brings us to that moment of history and helps see the actual situation from another point of view.

The exhibition, organized by  Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) y la Fundación Francisco Giner de los Ríos, makes a journey through the biography of Giner and his innovative project, developed through platforms like the National Pedagogical Museum (1882), the Institute for Social Reforms (1883) or the Board for Advanced Studies (1907) and its centers, including the Student Residence. A second part of the exhibition shows the validity and relevance of the 'institutionist' proposal and its main hallmarks: innovation in education and in scientific and technical research, and revindication of the environment and culture as everybody's heritage.

The exhibition, that can be seen until April 10, 2016, is the work of many years of documentary ransom, often with the help of donations from families and individuals, and research and publications.

The 400 pieces in the exhibition (paintings, sculptures, documents, photographs, vintage footage, letters, furniture, toys, clothes, books, journals, manuscripts and other objects), some unpublished or very rare, come from institutions like the Prado Museum, the National Library, the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC), the National Museum of Decorative Arts, the Sorolla Museum and the Student Residence, among others. Aureliano de Beruete, Joaquin Sorolla, Emilia Pardo Bazán, Federico Garcia Lorca, Maruja Mallo, Benjamin Palencia, Alberto Garcia-Alix, Eduardo Arroyo and Darío Villalba are some of the artists in the exhibition, all related in one way or another with the Free Institution of Education.
